Arvind Sawant Apologises
Arvind Sawant, a Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, has apologised to Saina N C for his sexist jibe and said he had no intention to defame anyone.
“My statement has been distorted and if it has hurt anyone in the slightest, I apologise to them. In my 55 years of political career, I have never insulted any woman,” Arvind Sawant said in a statement.
“There must be some political gain behind this, I have not named anyone and I had no intention to do so,” Arvind Sawant said in a statement.
On Friday, Arvind Sawant was embroiled in a controversy after a video went viral in which he allegedly called Saina N C an “imported maal”.
Saina N C left BJP and joined Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and this happened earlier this week.
Saina N C has been selected as the candidate for the assembly elections from Mumbadevi, and this election is going to be held on 20th November.
Saina N C has filed a complaint against Arvind Sawant in Nagpada Police Station regarding the things said in that viral video and she has also said that such things also reflect the mentality of Arvind Sawant and his party.
Arvind Sawant has even alleged that Saina N C has been instigated to file a complaint against him, she has not taken such a decision on her own.
Arvind Sawant has said that “a minister of the party Saina N C has joined is facing a rape case, a young woman has also filed a complaint of character assassination and assault against a leader of the party.
