It is being said that the iPhone 17 will this time use LTPO screens acquired from Samsung and LG in all its models, which will have a refresh rate of 120Hz, which was till now only available in the Pro and Pro Max models. This new technology display will give the iPhone 17 a feeling of smoothness in tasks like scrolling, gaming, animation and at the same time it also increases the responsiveness of the screen and also reduces battery consumption.
According to a previous report by display supply chain consultants Ross Young, this report had indicated that all Pro and non-Pro models of the iPhone 17 lineup coming in 2025 will have 120Hz Pro-Motion displays. Apple has been offering 120Hz screens in its Pro models since 2021 and these displays also support on-display feature.
Apple features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDROLED display in the standard model of the iPhone 16, and the same display is available in the 6.7-inch screen of the iPhone 16 Plus, which comes with only 60Hz.
It is expected that the Pro models of the iPhone 17 will get the A19 Pro chip with 12GB of RAM, although it is also being speculated that the standard and Air models of the iPhone 17 will get an A18 or 19 chip with 8GB of RAM. All models of the iPhone 17 are also expected to get an increase in the megapixels of the front facing camera, it is possible that the megapixels of the front facing camera are expected to increase from 12 to 24 megapixels in all the lineup of iPhone 17.
