The notice said, according to ANI: “As stated by the complainant on the basis of video evidence, you sang songs like ‘Case’, ‘Panchtara’ and ‘Patiala Peg’ in the live show on 26th and 27th October at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. Hence, this notice is being issued to ensure that songs promoting alcohol, drugs and violence are not sung in the live show in Hyderabad.” The Telangana government’s aim is to avoid songs that may send out the wrong message in the concert, especially in the presence of children.
Diljit’s songs are known for their Punjabi culture and style, and some of the songs do show a ‘bad boy’ image, which his fans love. But the authorities’ concern is also understandable given the possibility of children being present.
